Scholarships: Meet Kyle
February, 2024Kyle, 21, has lived her entire life in Santa Cruz, Laguna, with her parents and two siblings. Her father is the sole breadwinner, working as a jeepney driver and earning around PHP 7,500 per month, barely enough to meet the family’s daily needs, let alone the costs of higher education. Despite these financial challenges, Kyle is deeply passionate about agriculture and animal science. She is currently in her third year at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, pursuing a BS Agriculture degree majoring in Animal Science, with a specialisation in Animal Nutrition. She loves the hands-on nature of her studies and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in real agricultural settings. The Dana Asia scholarship has been a great support, helping her afford essential materials such as laboratory manuals, uniforms, and school supplies while studying away from home. Motivated and determined, Kyle hopes to become an animal nutritionist or work in a feed plant after graduation, with the goal of supporting her family and helping her younger brothers continue their education.

“The Dana Asia scholarship has made it possible for me to study without worrying about expenses. It motivates me to keep working hard to achieve my dream of becoming an animal nutritionist and to give back by helping my family and community.”
