What is the Education Fund?

Dana Asia’s Education Fund is our commitment to giving marginalised young people the chance to access education beyond secondary school. By breaking financial barriers and offering pastoral support, we open doors for marginalised youth, children from low-income families, and especially girls who too often are left behind. By covering tuition fees, materials, and essential living costs, the fund not only opens doors to education but also creates pathways to stable employment and brighter futures.

Why is it needed?

The need for such support is urgent. In Cambodia, only 17% of young people are enrolled in tertiary education, with rural and low-income students least likely to advance beyond high school. In the Philippines, while over 90% of children enrol in primary school, only 36% complete tertiary education, largely due to financial constraints and the need to contribute to household income. Without targeted assistance, thousands of capable young people are denied the chance to build skills, careers, and lives free from poverty.

Who we fund

The Fund opens doors to education – from English language programs and vocational training to university degrees – by removing the financial barriers that hold young people back from learning and building their future.

  • Marginalised youth with limited access to further education
  • Children from low-income families struggling with school costs
  • Young women to help close the gender gap in education
